David Patterson is a composer who visited my website, checked my music to see if it was working and had this to say:

Canary,

What a super message you have taken time to write. This is all wonderful news and news that counters today's much tauted "fading life" of certain kinds of music.

I will be meeting with my classes at UMass Boston soon and will be telling the students and faculty that we can catch your program on the Internet on Tuesday afternoons.

Yes, all of your 7 selections work with two clicks on the mouse each. The many moods of Costa Brava make this so attractive and contrast the dramatic narrative Gaia-moon music; neat scale in the folksong and really nice moves in the wonderfully titled Atlantic Sonata where I seem to hear rumbles of the sea in the left hand here and there; my favorite is the playful, jazzy Sometime after One.

Thank you every so much for such heartening news!

David

Oh My!

Thank you very much! I've been educating Cape Cod and the south shore of Massachusetts. People are as relieved as I am that the 20th century is over. Now we can seperate the wheat from the chaff. AND the music is getting more lyrical, not always tonal, but tuneful, and emotional. I fit right here.

I have been getting kudo's recently for my show (not me, the MUSIC)which also keeps me on the air. after 10 years of marginal twice a month slots I oh, about 8 months ago got full time status. They tell me I have more internet listeners than local, broadcast listeners. And some people have pledged monies through my show from other parts of the US and Canada.

Some say "classical music is dead". Yeah right, then how come my mail box is FULL!! I accept performance tapes or CD's even, you know, the CD's with the magic marker name on the top? Those are my early risers, the newest of the new. I explain to my listeners WHY I play music 20 years old and newer. That it's not like pop music and often takes that long to get a sponsor. Also I play very old music that's just been uncovered. I consider that new.

Thank you for letting me ramble about a favorite subject. When you were listening to my Mp3's how did they sound and were any not working?

Thank you again,
