JUST ANOTHER STAR IN NEW YORK CITY: A MUSICAL
REVIEW (Book by Rosa Caparros, Music and Lyrics
by Sue Doherty). This pop musical is the story of a cheesy cable talent
show which takes place in Greenwich Village. The various participants
perform their songs and ultimately realize that EVERYONE is really a star
in New York City. The use of multi-ethnic and/or physically-challenged
actors is encouraged for this piece.

HOUDINI
(Book by Abe Polsky, Music and Lyrics by
Sue Doherty). This pop musical is the true story of a 1924 Scientific
American search for a valid mediumship. The inquiry finally revolved around
a beautiful and famous Boston socialite called The Amazing Margery.
Houdini, long- known as a debunker of fraudulent mediums, was a member of
that committee. There is a cast of nine (with one brief walk on).

LOOKS LIKE RAIN (Book by David Christner - Music and Lyrics by Sue Doherty). This pop musical is a modern-day Noah
story. God has grown disgruntled with the violent conditions of the world.
He/She decides to destroy the world with a flood but first he/she want to
select a good man to save the human race and populate the earth anew.
His/Her archangel Gabriela informs him that a good woman would be much
easier to find but complies with his request, none the less. Gabriela runs
an internet search and comes up with a New York psychiatrist (Doc).
Throughout the play we see Doc treating various patients that represent the
various evils in the world (false prophets, adulterers, murderers, etc.).
When God comes to his office he just thinks he's another delusional
patient. After God turns his/her water into scotch, he becomes convinced.
When the flood does ultimately come, Doc and his family attempt to escape
in a small boat. All his patients appear at the dock, begging to be saved
as well. Doc, being the good man that he is, cannot refuse them. They all
realize that by working together, they can accomplish their goals and make
the world a better place. God stops the flood and the piece ends on a happy
note.
